The LIFE CERSUDS Project will host prestigious experts on SUDS in Benicàssim
The municipality of Benicàssim (Castellón) will host some of the most prestigious experts in Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) in the framework of the LIFE CERSUDS project, an innovative project in the fight against climate change which, in a new way, uses low commercial value ceramic tiles in stock as an essential part of the urban drainage system.
In this conference, which will be attended by the Mayoress of Benicàssim, Susana Marqués, Javier Mira (ITC’s main researcher on the project) and Ignacio Andrés, researcher at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) from the Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering (IIAMA) will speak first of all about the LIFE CERSUDS project and what it consists of, followed by the architect Enrique Fernández-Vivancos, author, together with Eduardo de Miguel, of the architectural project of the demonstrator built in C/ Sant Torre de Vicent in Benicàssim. Both together with Sara Perales, manager of Green Blue Management, will delve into the characteristics of this demonstrator.
After a break, Manuel de Pazos, from Madrid City Council, Roberto Soto, from Barcelona City Council, and Ángel Mena, from the Metropolitan Water Supply and Sanitation Company of Seville (EMASESA), will explain their respective experiences in these cities regarding the Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) to conclude with a visit to the works of the demonstrator that are being carried out at a good pace in the aforementioned Calle Torre de Sant Vicent, which is scheduled to be completed at the end of June or at the beginning of July, so that it can be evaluated this summer.
LIFE CERSUDS, coordinated by the Institute of Ceramic Technology (ITC), has the participation of Benicàssim Town Council, the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), the Ceramic Centre of Bologna (CCB-Italy), CHM Obras e Infraestructuras, S.A., the Ceramic and Glass Technology Centre (CTCV-Portugal) and the company Trencadís de Sempre, S.L.
