Students of University of Aveiro visit wood interpretation center – WOW by FINSA

This week, students enrolled in the curricular unit: Product Design within Circular Economy at the University of Aveiro made a visit to the WOW – Work On Wood space.

Powered by FINSA, a company that integrates the KATCH_e Portuguese stakeholders network, this space was designed to facilitate and enhance creativity, through the combination and interactivity of materials with the virtual world. Presented as wood interpretation centre, it intends to open the doors of FINSA to the academic world and to the knowledge, thus facilitating creation, innovation and investigation.

Accompanied by professors and KATCH_e members Teresa Franqueira and Silvina Santana, the students learned about various spaces: didactic, showroom, co-work or logistics. This visit was very fruitful and contributed to broaden their knowledge concerning the projects being undertaken: not only regarding materials selection, but also allowing students to understand the production cycle within a company, and realizing how to gather relevant information regarding the application of wood and wood products throughout project development.
